Case Study - The Royal Bank of Scotland
RBS has been a fantastic supporter of the Challenge for a number of years, becoming title sponsor in 2007. As an enlightened employer, RBS recognises the multi-faceted benefits that entering over 600 of its employees into the Challenge can bring to the organisation, including promoting effective team building and team performance, developing entrepreneurial initiative, improving staff health and wellbeing, and enhancing personal development.
Support for RBS employees comes in the form of paid entry fees as well as subsidised logistical travel and accommodation arrangements. By topping up its employees’ fundraising endeavours, RBS is also committing the organisation to supporting the local Scottish communities in which RBS’ business roots are still firmly planted.
Small charities and community groups will continue to benefit as a result of the funds raised by their Challenge participants. Finally, RBS continues to support the event logistics by sponsoring the physio and massage services at Checkpoints and at the Finish, providing branded signage and gift items for the goody bags, and encouraging their staff to volunteer their services on the weekend of the event.
"RBS has been involved with this event for several years now and we are extremely proud sponsors of the Challenge. It is an event that reflects our corporate values and resonates with our desire to give something back to the communities around the world within which we operate. The roots of our business are very firmly planted within Scotland, so we are delighted invloved in an event that raises so much money for Scottish communities. To all of those taking part in this year's event, whether you are doing the walk or playing a vital support role, I wish you the very best of luck"
